Merrilee has been involved in the art casting community over the past decade. She graduated from the School of the Art institute of Chicago in 1992, with a BFA. Her work has been shown in Illinois, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Colorado.
Statement: Fine Art is a visual language that effects us on a separate level from all other forms of communication; spoken language, written language or music. As an artist, I feel it is my job to study this visual language. The forms I create are part of the collective and ongoing dialog in our visual language. It is my intent that the meanings of the sculptures will change as they cross such diverse boundaries as time, culture, physical scale and material.
