Russ just welcomed Steinunn Thorarinsdottir of Iceland to the Community, and I just had time to visit her website. She works in many media. Here is a recent image. Russ and I recommend a visit to http://www.steinunnth.com

:) Dear Steınunn,
I'm a sculptor and a lecturer ın Turkey.
ı saw your web-site. All your works are excellent. But the works whıch names " a rose ıs a rose, Rhyme serıes,Stay,Beıng there" are most excellent. these works are equal to my works's meanıngs and forms. Especialy "Concept" ıs much ımportant ın my works. so I thınk I saw dansıng of fıgures wıth the consept of realızm. The world whıch they create ıs a bıg, ıt contaıns "dıffıcult and sımple, humanıstic and ındıvıdual, quiet and voweled"

I like these sculptures, in particular "Idea" 1997 (egghead) and "Crossroads" 2002.
The symbolist nature of these combinations and the potential for many interpretations
derived from these forms --by different observers-- is very intreguing to me.

Hi I am Canadian based author. I think that this pices of art are exelant.I admit their personal philossoffy and consept.Like figurative art it is enought with no so many diteils.Jast simbbol and idea.I pay kredit for their sensittiv and poetic nature .If you go deeper in figurative way you will stack there and not be able to expres your consept.Very well done

Anyone know where I may find a figure of "the creation of Adam" with only the touching hands>??
To clarify; a sculpt--not a drawing. Limestone prefered.

Hi there.Make it by your self. You are sculptor and you like a Texas limestone as well.So do it .You are 72 years old may be it is hard for you.If you can't chack in some museum .They have plaster copys of the hands made of somebody and transfer it by puncktire machine and chizels.Good luck.

Rodin's ADAM (http://www.askrodin.com/html/page2i2.html), also known as "The Creation of Man," is thought to have been inspired by Michelangelo's painting (http://www.artofeurope.com/michelangelo/mic2.htm) because of the pointing fingers in both pieces.

The link to the Rodin piece is for a reproduction...
