Ah, basically, I'm in the process of photo documenting my works, or at least, the ones that are complete and putting together a portfolio. I haven't been able to find any online resources in regards to the format of a sculptor's portfolio, google just turning up applications to schools that require portfolios.
So I was wondering, what makes a professional portfolio, and what kind of format should I be using?

Clean simple images of completed work (any order), with details beneath (title, year, materials, dimensions, author), followed by resume and other print material.
I recommend keeping the cover very understated. Let your work do the talking.

Araich sound pretty level headed, and he seems to give really good advice.A nice leather black book,8x10 color pictures work good for me.I have been told that when presenting you images to galleries not to include too many images. If they like your work they will respond and ask for more visuals. My "home" portfolio is well over hundred pages of visuals, but I make books of 5 to 7 for gallery "Fishing"....get to printing..ANT

iron ants right. At most i would send 8 to 10 good slides on cd-rom. their handy, easy to carry and you can copy them yourself. Most if not all gallires will accpeted the cd-roms. Send a print out of each piece on the cd. I list the Art info on the upper left conner of the image. So even if they lose the print out my info is on every jpeg. Make a hard copy slide sheet too just in case. Also get 4x6 photos so you can carry a small flip book with you at all times. You never know who you might run into. And say "hey i do this".
