Stange alloy

I bought a bunch of stainless from an artist several years ago,and they threw in 3 4x8 16 gauge sheets of metal.The metal is called muntz or munts metal.I probally boofed the spelling,but it looks like brass,but it isn,t.It gets white fuzzy stuff when you tig it like brass,but it will not take a brass rod.I can barley do it with silicon bronze,but it is not the same color.Has anybody worked with this metal or have any sujestions? thanks m3

MMM - I recognized the term but wasn’t sure of the spelling myself. Google found this site, and these definitions under “Muntz metal”:

This seems to say the term is not well-defined, and that it covers many different alloys.
