Bravo !! I was delighted and extremely surprised to hear about this web site. This is exactly what we need. So many sites for painters and 2D artists, and not enough for us 3D folks. Thanks for inviting me and I hope to be more active as time goes on. Am still reading all the sites and will add my two sense when I think it is appropriate. Just one criticisim, list us by our last names alphabetically. Thanks. Judy Robins

hi judy,

you can find an alphabetical list of member names,(only by user handle) on the upper right portion of your screen.....

im not sure, however, if there is a list that displays isc member names if that is what you were referring to.

welcome aboard!

Thanks so much for your compliments.

About your names question, I'm sorry, but we really can only list the user names alphabetically. Many artists like their real names to be used and that's great, it is easy for them to use a signature or list their website. But other users really don't want their names shown for privacy reasons. For this reason we will not do an index listing of peoples real names. Your real name is kept private from the community unless you use it yourself in your user name or signature.

The issue is similar for email address. We do not have a screen that lists members email address. What we do allow is for someone to use the system to send an email to another user. This keeps the web-bots from automatically picking up email addresses and using them for other purposes. Any email you receive from our system had to come from another registered user, and likely is relevant to something you are discussing. If you reply using your own email address it then will be revealed to that user. This is similar to the system used by ebay and does give some real protection of your privacy.

We have tried to strike a balance, but want to leave it possible for people to keep personal information they share private unless they themselves choose to have it shown. Many sculptors have websites, and if if they do and have listed it with us a small www will appear below their posting. This is a great way to find out more about them.

The search tool is also a great way to potentially locate a name or topic that interests you and you might try using that.

By the way, I liked your website. That is a really large stone you are working on!
