Great link, thanks.
While on the subject of welders. Does anyone have advice on spot welders? Looking to purchase 110 or 220 v machine. Having never used one before I don't know what to expect.
Plan on jointing .02 stainless steel so I think the 220v machine would be unnecessary.

If you have a welding supply shop around I'd drop in and discuss
what your specific needs are and see what they recommend.
You may be lucky enough to try out a demo model.
My supplier has loaned be a small TIG machine twice --over the
weekend-- when I needed one to work on some silicon bronze.

The Maxstar is pretty nice, but if you are doing alot of tig and aluminum, the extra money for the Dynasty 200 would be well spent.

the maxstar is a dc only rig so if you plan on doing ANY aluminum your going to need the AC.
the ta 185 is a pretty nice machine and can be had for under 2grand
as far as a spt welder I beleive that hobart still makes them and you can get them in 110v pretty cheap too however I would just get a 110v mig so I could do more then just spot welds -

Thanks for your advice guys. I ended up buying a inexpensive 110v flux core wire feed. Flux core wire is pricey stuff, but my welding requirements are minor.
