[FONT=Tahoma]I am in the process of trying out the technique of Baby Hand/Foot Casting. I have purchased 500g of Dustfree Alginate Impression Material with a setting time of 2.30 mins. I also have 1kg of precious stone mixture. I now need someone to explain what the process is in terms of what quantities are needed for alginate/water to make the mould and how one would recommend to do this process. Secondly, once an alginate mould is taken what quantities would I need of precious stone mix to make the cast.
Can anyone help me at all? Thanks!!!!

We have a "search" tool near the top of the main, basic screen that should help with queries of this sort. I know first-time posters won't be familiar with that, but I'm reminding repeat viewers, as it may help them. Here are some recent posts on this question.
And, as I searched for "alginate", I saw that you entered your question in three separate places. We also ask pople not to repeat material in different forums, as it leads to overlapping answers and confusion. (You're forgiven as a "newbie", but this will be a reminder to others.)
http://www.sculpture.net/community/showthread.php?t=2100&highlight=alginate is a good general discussion on alginate.
Here's one on using alginate for head casts, with various points of view.

And, here's a recent thread on your exact question - casting a baby's hands and/or feet:

Hope some of this helps. You'll probably get other replies also.
