This is a news report about a Melbourne artist who "claimed credit for embarking on the largest contemporary art installation in the world". Australia is overall a sparsely populated country with huge land mass. Clearly we can't do it in Singapore
Sculptor's boulder vision one for the birds
ONE of Australia's most successful but least-known sculptors, Andrew Rogers, might at last gain household recognition in his home town with the completion of two massive works on the grassy plains to Melbourne's south-west.
Rogers, of Melbourne, yesterday claimed credit for embarking on the largest contemporary art installation in the world with the completion of the two works.
One, in a clearing on the You Yangs near Lara, depicts a huge bird. Another, at Eastern Park in Geelong, replicates a bronze sculpture, Rhythms of Life, also by Mr Rogers, which can be seen on the Yarra bank near the Arts Centre.
Both are geoglyphs — images marked out with stones or boulders, which can be fully appreciated only when they are viewed from high above. [snip]
