View Full Version : Recognition of Artistic Achievement
I'm wondering about opinions on what would be considered some of the most sought after prizes or awards in art. Mainly what forms of recognition would you guys consider the pinacle of artistic achievement (pertaining to Sculpture). I guess you might look at the grammys for music & the academy awards for motion picture. Not to say that these are the pinacle of achievement in these areas or the be all and end all. What sort of recognition would there be for sculptors?

Normally it would be an annual prize or award that carries with it a certain sum of money as well as the recoginition, wouldn't it?
Do you know of any rich philantrophist or Foundation and can convince him to donate a substantial sum? We can name this sculpture prize or award after the doner. Do you prefer the Gates Prize, or the Buffet Prize?
But what organization would you prefer to administer this prize?

Hey a good sale or commison is a prize thats suits me fine.I think grants are great, but I imagine the political crap to get one puts it out of reach for the average sculptor like me..........IA
