Hey everyone. Not sure if questions about what to charge are appropriate on these forums. I haven't seen very many questions about the subject (maybe I haven't looked in the right place).

I am making sculpey dragons. They're about 7" tall. I've only been making them for family and friends at this point, but now someone wants me to make a dolphin for them. But I have no idea what to charge.

The materials are about $5 (sculpey and aluminum foil). The time to make one depends on what canes I already have. I anticipate that I'll have to make all new canes for this project. So I guess total hours would be about 7-10, depending on how much my little son lets me work at one sitting.

Attached is a pic of my last dragon I made.

Any suggestions are most welcome.

Thanks

I'm only 24, so what do I know? but from what I have been told, just charge an hourly rate.
if it took you 7-10 hours, what would be a hourly rate? only you can decide that, at $10 hour, you're looking at $70-100.

this is a tricky question though, and only you can decide what you feel comfortable with. don't undersell yourself though just to make a sale.

but also don't be an asshole artist that charges $13,000 for 2 hours of work.

just my 2.4 cents.
