Now, Khurja is preparing itself for seeing a new dawn where different and new mediums will come on a single platform. Creative artists will get a chance to not only explore the hidden facets of Khurja but also interact with other medium of creative arts.

Probably for the first time Khurja will witness a gamut of people who will experiment with their mediums but on one single subject - “I discovered”. This unique concept will work not only as a platform for communicating between different mediums but will also provide a unique experience of working in an Indian village.

Foundation For Arts brings to you an unique event, an opportunity to showcase your talent and creativity and to explore the best of Indian Heritage. DISCOVER INDIA is a 10 day integrated program packed with activity and yet is a vacation which you are going to cherish for a long time.
A great opportunity to explore traditional Indian art and interact with fellow artists from around the world.

Give shapes to your imaginations, exhibit it to the connoisseurs in Delhi and sell it thorough the exhibition organized by us. Proceeds from the sale will go to the funding of causes like child education and health care, women empowerment and training workshops supported by Foundation For Arts.
Explore the magic of Taj, the glory of Rajasthan and the Mughal charm of Delhi in our itinerary. Our program is interwoven with a lot of fun along with the serious business and your passion for art.

It will be an informal get together and great platform to exchange notes with leading artisans. The big idea is to have an event that would encourage craftsmen from the area to get together, socialize, show off their creative skills, and have a good time. That’s what we call a Pot full of business and fun.

About Foundation For Art

Foundation for art is a New Delhi based Indian charity organization working for various performing and visual arts. We are actively involved in providing a value platform to artisans to showcase their art and get a fair price. The foundation also works ceaselessly towards better social surroundings in the immediate environment of the artisans and their families. Providing basic education through community schools, health/hygiene training and skill enhancement programs are all financed by the part of the funds generated through sale of the art merchandise.

About Frida Steinberger

Frida Steinberger, born in Israel, is a multidisciplinary artist, creating and sculpting in earthware and porcelain, also working with photography and other forms of visual arts.

Frida has been active in creating and sculpting since she finished her studies at the “Bezalel” Academy of Art – Jerusalem, Israel. Over the years Frida has visited India and Japan, and studied the secrets of the local artists with hands on experience. Frida lived and created with the local artists authentic ceramic sculptures. Frida documented this unique experience in her photography.

Itinerary

Day 1 (October 3rd and 4th)
Arrival in Delhi with a trip around the city especially the Crafts Museum and National Museum along with a heritage walk in old Delhi followed by a delightful Indian cuisine at Karims.

Day 2 (October 5th)
Travel to Khurja, tour to popular local potteries and interaction with local Potters. Visit to traditional Khurja kilns and countryside to enlighten the imagination of the artists.
Make your creations.

Day 3 (October 6th)
Using ones creativity and imagination to capture every moment through pottery making, ceramic or canvas painting, photo shoots and trying hands in sculpture. Evening, return to Delhi.

Day 4 (October 7th)
Travel to Agra and see the Taj Mahal, built by Shah Jahan, an exquisite work of some 20,000 craftsmen and laborers. After lunch, a visit to Sikandra, the monument with an eclectic blend of cultures and styles. Sikandra to be followed with Imad-ut-Daulah’s tomb which is a unique monument as here was the first use of Persian style marble inlay in India.

Day 5 (October 8th)
Visit to the town of Fatehpur Sikri, Travel back to Delhi.

Day 6 (October 9th)
Glazing and firing preparations for potters and sculptures and others to give final touch to their creations.

Day 7 (October 10th)
Travel to Jaipur and site seeing of Amber fort, City palace, Hawa Mahal and try authentic Rajasthani cuisine.

Day 8 (October 11th)
Visit to local potteries specializing in traditional Blue pottery and exploring of stone cutting, tie-dying textiles, block printing, blue pottery and the famous Filigree work and return to Delhi.

Day 9 (October 12th)
Local tour of Delhi and artists visit monuments like Red Fort, Qutub Minaar, Lotus temple, Lodhi tomb etc. which will surely tickle your creative skills. Interactive session in the evening with a gamut of people from various walks of life including artists, painters, academicians, art collectors and people of eminence.

Day 10 (October 13th)
Half day, be on your own followed by exhibition of works made during the tour. Fly back to Delhi by night.

Costing: $ 1500 USD per participant

Cost includes accommodation, all meals, surface transport, monument fee, escort cum guide service, setting up exhibition, infrastructure for production along with raw material.
