Hi all,

Last week I drove to Cincinnati and was very impressed by the energy and level of planing going on there. I'm starting a new thread about it at here on Sculpture Community and we will arrange a meeting place at the conference for folks that attend and are interested in meeting and networking.

For some of you it may be too far to travel, so I'll also try and post information to Sculpture Community during the conference. But I encourage you to come to the conference. As you look through the conference schedule below, you'll see that it is a very full agenda with sessions that are vital to anyone in the sculpture world. You'll have fun, learn, make new friends, and experience a great city all at the same time.

In addition to the official schedule, Cincinnati-based sculptors are organizing the exciting Studio B Sculpture show that will feature work by 55 sculptors in a 17,000 square foot warehouse space next to the Carl Solway Gallery. I'll be posting more about this and other extracurricular events here on the Sculpture Community.

The conference will be well attended - the Cintas Center is large, but I hear some offerings and tours have nearly filled up - so you should register soon as space is limited. Registration is also very full for the student scholarships but please check with ISC at sculpture.org if you are a student and want to come on scholarship.

I hope to see you there!

Russ RuBert

Thanks, Russ. for anyone who hasn't already noticed, the current issue of Sculpture Magazine has a double page spread at the back that also lists some other events. For example, there is a Micro Monumental exhibit at Xavier University (which I have a tiny sculpture in!). And other evnets. These conferences are fantastic. Go, if there's any way.

Great JAZ I'll be on the lookout for your sculpture. Do you know how many pieces are in the exhibit?

Hey I just found a nice blog about the ISC Conference meeting we attended at Pat Renick's studio here. The web link is here: http://frontier.cincinnati.com/blogs/art/2006/05/get-ready-for-sculpture-sculpture-more.asp

It's by Sara Pearce - who I think I saw briefly there, but do not know personally.

But many nice people like Sara live in Cincinnati and I'm looking forward to spending some time there and getting to know them better. Pat Renick has been a inspiration to me for several years now.

I really regret missing this ISC Conference since I grew up in Cincinnati and haven't made it back there in a long time, but I'm at the end of a commission that won't give me time away until it's installed. So I'm wondering, has anyone found any other blogs or message boards following this sculpture/sculptor gathering?

I've mentioned this in another thread. But I'll repeat the info here as this is a more suitable location.

About Bloggers talking about this ISC Sculpture Conference, other than Sara Pearce, there is another one with the name PaMdora who seems to know Russ. The blog is found here (http://www.pamdora.com/2006/06/urban-camping.html), and this particular blog has a good photo of Russ working on his neon sculpture. :)

Russ,

Is there any chance that the ISC Conference will become a biannual event?

I realize a great deal of planning is required just to organize one conference,
but I know that personally speaking, the option of a second conference would provide incredible flexibility.

This ISC sculpture conference is now over for more than a week.

Can some of you who have attended the Conference post and share with us some of your impressions, observations, and photos.

From previous comments, I understand Russ was there, and JAZ took part in a 'peripheral' event. Who else ?
