I notice he is 78 years old, amazing! but it would be taking a big risky chance uprooting oneself and relocating, and doing so to a country that in all likelyhood seems like a dangerous place to live which is going to become more so. At age 78 any apprenticeship may very likely never, unfortunately, be completed very far into the arrangement.

Any thoughts on either aspect I raise?

Good question......As I write this, my 88 year old father, who just buried his 70 year old wife, is drilling and hammering away on some project at his house, which is just up the hill from my home. We live part-time in the boonies on our family ranch. So, as far as apprenticing with this 78 year old sculptor in Israel........hmmmm. If I could escape my responsibilities here, and love life, for a few years, I would actually give it some thought. After seeing his work it is obvious that he is prolific and talented, and what could one absorb in even a short time in that environment? I am not sure about living in an active war zone again. I think I would cook at home a lot. But, as always, I would return to my home again with the same determination to keep strong this Golden Island of freedom, civil and individual rights, peace and prosperity that we enjoy in the US. For our faults, there is no place in the world where I have enjoyed anything comparable........but Australia is nice, especially Sidney and Perth.
I think I will go draw a cartoon of Jesus, or no, maybe George Bush...........heck, I feel like living dangerously today; I am going to sculpt Moham.....
