Dear Sculpture Community,
I look forward to seeing as many of you as can attend the July 24-27, 2003 ISC Regional Conference to be held at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. As the ISC Director of Education, I am a true believer in conferences to learn more about the field, but perhaps more importantly to help people connect with each other. As members of a sculpture community we belong to a unique circle of people that encompasses many generations, varied occupations within the visual arts and non-visual arts world and all life and professional stages.
This conference will be an opportunity to make new friends and become reacqainted with former colleagues as you find "kindred spirits" ---people who genuinely share a common bond and a love for sculpture.
Also, in addition to the roundtables and panels on the theme of "Figuratively Speaking," presentations will address practical issues such as, "Transportation/Shipping and Insurance of Large Scale Sculpture" and "How To Photograph Your Sculpture or Work with a Professional Photographer." And, there will be lots of opportunities for networking and socializing, including lunch with one of the conference mentors.
I look forward to joining the ISC Board and staff in greeting each of you personally at the conference....and strengthening our bonds.
