Is there a software for pc were you can move a nude male body around as much as you like. This would be great when looking for new poses and expressions also you would see the exact shape of the muscles in whatever qrazy pose you might want to sculpt.

also for horses but that would be asking for to much I gues.

Kind regards
Johannes

I don't know of any specific "ready made" software for this sort of application, but depending on how adept you are, you can try out a 3-D modeling program like Truespace, (by Caligari) and render your own model(s) in a vector-based environment.

Such a program can allow you to be as specific with your model as you wish, although, pinning down muscular signatures for certain poses would be quite a challenge.

A program called Poser by Curious Studios does basically what you're talking about, but the anatomy is not accurate in that the movement of the muscles around the joints are only approximated, so it is not meant for anatomy study. Its more for 2d renderings and animations, and for 3d concept sketches.

cheers,
Brad

Hi Johannes,

I have a website which is exactly what you might be looking for. The models are posed for you and presented in 3d, so you can turn these around and print different views to help with your sculpture. I am offering free demo memberships with full access to five models to anyone that wants to test drive the system.

It does require Adobe Reader 7.0.8, but once you have that installed, you are good to go.

The following links might be beneficial to you:
http://www.magicsculpture.com/ the main website
http://www.magicsculpture.com/MagicSculptureIntro.html a small flash presentation on how the system works
http://www.magicsculpture.com/library.php the pose library featuring over 600 poses
http://www.magicsculpture.com/tutorials.html the tutorial section
http://www.magicsculpture.com/board/ the message board which has a troubleshooting section to walk you through any start up difficulties you might encounter.

I hope you enjoy the website.

Regards,

Esther
