Bit stupid, but I don't know how to reduce jpegs to 2k to get them onto my ISC gallery. 2k seems to reduce them to nothing. Thanks for help.

There's got to be a typo somewhere. 2K is ridiculous. Are you talking about a gallery here, or on the ISC website? Russ may have a limit of 20K. Earlier, I think it was about 70, with 50 - 60 suggested as adequate.

Actually the size limit is only increased if you are a member of ISC (International Sculpture Center).
That reduces the load on our server and also is a extra benefit to those that are members of ISC.
I've been considering allowing people to make a donation to help support Sculpture Community and then giving them more space for photos. Is that an idea that people would support?

Hey RuBert:
I love that photo that you are using for your icon! It is a good composition as photograph, on top of an interesting work of art with great geometry and a nice portrait.

Russ. Yes - donations might be OK.
With regard to the 2k. Can it be done, then? When I try to upload onto my personal gallery, the system kicks out anything that's over 2k. And I note that other non- ISC members are using the gallery option, so I presume they are able to meet the limit somehow.

1. Open the file in your image editing software (GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) is a good free, open-source one to use if you don't have a proper program already)
2. Go to File > Save As
3. If you save the file as a new jpg file, you should be given the option of adjusting the image quality
4. Take the quality level down to something like 20 and save the file
That should take the size down. Keep playing around with the quality level (I suggest using the original each time you try a new level...otherwise it'll be like photocopying a photocopy) until you get the size you want.
