Birds Eye View of Giant Sculptues

With new technologies, it is not too difficult to get birds eye view of giant public sculptures. Here is an example of the Atlanta Fish Market giant fish sculpture.

That is one hell of a fish. Bet it was one these guys who swallowed Jonah. How tall is it? 50 feet? What material? Bronze? Copper? Fiberglas? What species of fish? And why no credit for the sculptor?

Tluois, I was waiting for some response from someone who has seen the giant fish in person, but so far none. So, here you are, two links with information about the fish. The first also explains why it is difficult to photograph (from human height).

... The Great Fish is 65 feet long from tail to snout (?), bronze in appearance, leaping from a tiny fountain next to the Fish Market. It was created in 1995, the 18" model rendered by Martin Dawe and the full-size version fashioned over six months by Randy Blain (with help from his son, Jason Blain).

The Great Fish is impressive, but buildings in the area diminish the sky-poking power other fish statues enjoy. It's hard to photograph at times, and any good scale view from across the street is crisscrossed with telephone lines. ....

Hey, thanks for the post! I have to go to Atlanta on business later this month, and I'll definitely have to check out this huge fish. Coincidentally, I'm going there to repair the start button that the kids have broken on an interactive fish sculpture that I made for the new Atlanta aquarium.
