I wonder what makes the foundry's manager give this sort of opinion in public about the bronze statue.

THE manager of the London-based foundry who completed the Ted Bates statue only last week has admitted the controversial monument will almost certainly be taken down.
Sue Rolfe, from the Bronze Age Sculpture Casting Foundry, spoke yesterday to Saints about what options are open to them in the wake of the negative publicity surround the unveiling of the £112,000 statue.
"We've heard the statue hasn't been well received, which is a really unfortunate thing to happen," she told the Echo.
"And I feel deeply for the club and the artist but we just cast what has been carved".
