Hi, check out this web site http://accad.osu.edu/~rinaldo/ .
I haven't looked at all of it but what I have seen looks interesting.
Have a great day,
Jeff

Coming on the heels of that recent Gilbert and George post makes for an interesting comparison. From an aesthetic standpoint, there is not a lot there for me in Rinaldo's work either, but intellectually there is quite a lot to ponder and learn from with what he is doing. His approach is from a desire to understand the workings of the universe...the point of science. It is an embracing of the workings of life with the openness of childhood wonder, which leads to discovery. Compare that to the attitude of G & G which dismisses all that is not a part of their own narcissim, and has no food of value for the eye, intellect, or soul.
I'm not sure that all of Rinaldo's work would pass my own high-falutin' "Is it Art?" criteria, but it certainly passes the "Is it of Value?" criteria, which is an art itself.
