Time for a good laugh. But to the post-9/11 police in Kansas, this robot-like sculpture is no joke. The bomb squad was called in, bringing their own robot to investigate.

A mysterious four-foot robot that prompted police to shut down an area around a Curtis State Office Building on the Capitol grounds in Topeka has not been found to be a hazard.
Kansas Highway Patrol Lieutenant John Eichkorn says maintenance workers notified authorities about the robot Tuesday morning because no one received permission to display it.
The Topeka Police bomb squad was called mid-morning to bring its own robot to check out the mechanized visitor. Kansas Highway Patrol troopers also were called in to block off streets around the area. They advised workers to stay away from windows as a precaution.
Eichkorn says .... investigators determined the sculpture was not hazardous. They did find a signature on it, which he says they're trying to track down. ....
This second online story has just one picture, but it is a better close-up. The last sentence below is interesting. :)
