I have to say where this sculpture is from or what it represents. Does anyone have any idea where this sculpture would be from or what it represents. Thanks.

Getting us to do your homework / take-home quiz, are you? I'll at least post a comment, and please give us the answer if it doesn’t appear here. First, the bow and arrow. I think I read somewhere that the bow was invented by the early Germanic tribes in northern Europe (not sure about that, just something that sounds familiar).

The “Iceman” found 5 - 10 years ago on the Italian/Australia Alpine border had feathered arrows and an unstrung, partly completed bow. He was about 3000 B.C., so bow and arrow are at least that old.

On the art side, the animal looks like a dog to me, and suggests Central America, but the rider has oriental features. Material seems to be ceramic. No clues that I can see in the vegetation. Overall, I’d say it is 20th century, maybe 21st. Location probably some European-derived culture, most likely northern Europe or Australia / New Zealand. Purpose: pure art.

This should be a fun game. And if your grade is F, please don't blame me.

I think it's modern, an attempt to do something in the style typical of "pre-Columbian" cultures in Peru. The bow and arrow don't fit, and it's too big to be genuine.

In how many forums did you post this?

The bow and head gear are central asian most likely Scithian, however, the steed does not fit that assumption.
So the steed (whatever it is) would tend to push the piece in a more eastern direction.

Rider and horse don't really fit together
I suggest China influence for rider
and pre-columbian for horse.
Contemporary art work anyway.

do you have the answer?
