Hello Everyone,

I am looking for advice on materials for hollow casting. Basically I'm looking for weight reduction (over solid cast plaster), durability, paintability or tintability (with acrylics or other non toxic stuff), affordability (am a grad student) and, above all, non-toxicity. All suggestions welcome, am especially interested in hearing from anyone who has used Fortron, TufCal or other USG products in this way.

Sara, I would be interested in knowing how you came out on this. I am just starting with casting hollowcasts with plaster. I am using latex skin molds with a mother mold on the outside. I have been told hollow castings are stronger. Dave
