I'm new to this type of forum but hope I may find value here in being part of a sculpting community. Presently I'm doing my first ceramic shell in my foundry(switching from standard investment).
Most of my work is figurative, cast in lost wax or in the less well known method of lost cardboard. Check out my studio and foundry at www.lastchancefab.com [URL]

Welcome to the forum, tom. Your website is well-designed, and I especially like your "lost-cardboard" casting as an alternative to lost-wax.

Welcome, Tom. Your website is great, and timely info for many recent questions on this site about bronze casting. Your process is "labor intensive" as they say, but yields a very nice result. I'm particularly impressed by the surface as-cast. I have worked in investment casting for many years, and that looks very nice for sand casting. How cold does it get up there on n. shore of Lake Superior?

Thanks for posting the link to your website--Quite a bit of great information. How often do you update it?
Looking forward to reading your posts.

Love the slide show. Although I don't want to do hot bronze, it shows me the teamwork aspect I am missing out on. And of course the sculpture is wonderful.
