I'm producing a pair of sculptures for permanent outdoor installation.

They are effectively a pair of curved steel railings, about 2m high and 3.5m long, curved on an approx 2m radius.

I'm planning to have each piece stand on 4 'legs' bolted down to an anchor point. How deep / wide will each of these points need to be?

I remember seeing a post here about ground anchors as an alternative to concrete foundations (but I can find it now) would these be appropriate?

Any advise welcomed

Hi Gordon - here is that thread http://sculpture.net/community/showthread.php?s=&threadid=337

I would think that a small deep concrete pad would do, as long as you allow room around the bolt holes for any stresses to the concrete. It's hard to say not seeing the work.
