Hi, I am Dutch and lives in France. I got out of my family a beautiful large bronze of the artist Isidore Bonheur, a stallion. By searching on internet I found that this was a very important artist of animal sculputures. I found also that most of the sculpures has a foundry stamp of Peyrol, his brother in law. This one has not, but under his signature is very little written "Compoir Français d'art Editeur Paris"
Who can tell me something more about this bronze, real or not, and perhaps the approx. value.
Look at attachments.
Thanks,
Yvonne

Hi, I would suggest that you take it to a trusted appraiser or one of the big auction houses for authentication. Some of the auction houses will give you their opinion for free if you send them good photos, especially of that signage.
Have a great day,
Jeff

Speaking with no knowledge of the sculptor and rather little of animal anatomy, I find the photo of the head quite attracrtive, but elements of the two body photographs less appealing. Specifically, the ribs, some musculature, and the open mouth of the animal as viewed in the third image.

The best advice was given by Ironman above. Show it to a trusted professional.
