I've looked around and can't seem to find where I do this...

If you mean changing this name "Liebekatze27", I don't think it is possible. But since you have only posted a few times, why not re-register under a new name that you like?

~~~JThis isn't AOL where you can delete and create "screen names" at will, when you create an account you create a user name for that account, changing the name usually means inconvieniencing an admin (imagine if 20 people a day asked for their names to be changed! they'd spend all day on that), or abandoning a new account- wasting it's space on the server's database, and creating another account.
I'd say live with it, the name used for posting is NOT important, it doesn't matter if you are "user1234" as long as you have a worthwhile POST to contribute.
Not realizing that I put all capitols in my screen name I've been stuck with SPRINGFIELD ever since. My ego isn't quite that big honest.
Interestingly enough the clock forum I read has a very good piece of software running it, I haven't found what it is exactly, but I noticed it has a lot of features and functions, and one of the features in the user control panel is "change my name".
I should try to find out what the software is, but I bet it's a pay-for software or even has an anuual fee, but as I run a board for a talk show and my own for my site, I would switch to that software if it was free.
I have also had second thoughts about my forum name,
I chose it on a whim when I first registered,
it was the name of the family cat when I was about 7
it has been since been pointed out (after meeting another forum member)
that it may give a false impression of my stature.
I'm 6'7" tall and weigh 165 lbs.
Of course if you are a new member with not too many postings, just re-register under a new name that you like. The old postings under the old name can be considered abandoned.
I also would like to modify if not change my name in this forum. For me, it is by now too late of course.
By the way, other details in your 'personal profile' can be modified or changed.
Hi I want to change my name too and reading this post I will have to make a new profile.
I have no idea why I used my trading business name on this site, I think I just put it in and thought I could change it at a later date.
Its important not to have my trading name for my 3d CGI services.
I think it should be made clear upon making a profile here that you cannot change it. Perhaps it is made clear though but I cannot remember and did not note that at the time.
I created my user name with the false impression that I could change it at a later point and now, I'm stuck with a dorky, albeit positive, user name.... Wish I would have thought to start up a new profile early on! Gotta get those brain cells kicking back and forth once in a while and come up with such a simple solution!
See? now EVERYONE wants to change their names!
Russ and the moderators I'm SURE have more than enough work to deal with running this site without having to deal with the extra work of changing people's accounts.
Think of it like going to the bank and asking that they change your checking account number because you don't like the number, and the work involved in changing that.
ANd like I said earlier, they change one person's name, then fifty will want theirs changed, and from the posts here it looks like we are well on the way with at least several here who now want theirs changed.
Another issue is, you change your name then people don't connect your current batch of posts to the author of the newer material and that starts to create confusion as well.
I like dorky stuff and "happysculpting" isn't dorky anyway... Who cares what username you have, it's the person that counts and not some facade or label.. I'm surprised actually that this online community is as small as it is. On any given day only a few different people post and its easy to get to know at least some of their views. I think it is nice to be able to do that here and it supercedes any name or whatever..
Glad you like it Steve. I too like silly and dorky at times. (Big Jim Carrey fan :-) For a forever name for this site I would have preferred a name to represent more of who I am. A name that I would put some thought into would have been nice. :cool:
To me, HappyScupting seems to represent well who you are.
