Leasing Sculptures

Hello Again,
I have been placing my sculptures where I can all over the town
and using the local area as my canvas and of course everyone
likes the idea and now I 'm getting calls to place them ,but why
buy the cow when you get the milk for free, and here in Conn as
all over who has $1000's of dollar to spend now. I have seen that
some artist lease. How does that work do you just pick a fiqure
based on selling price?, then option to buy?who pays moving?
etc. if anyone has done please advise.

I've not seen it done directly by the artist. Noramally it is handled by an art lease company.
I think it would be a complicated business to do on your own, unless your friends with the client - and even then.
Things like maintenance and repair to damage, pulbic liability insurance and dispute resolution make it a mine-field.
Having said all that, if you can strike a deal... :)

What about purchase by installment?
X every month, own in Y. Keep it for duration. That way, it becomes no more than a sale.

Will you post some pictures of your recent installs?

Thanks it does seem complicated I guess you get into all that
lawyer shit,but it seems a good way to get pieces out and I would
do it only with corporate offices.Today I put one on loan for the
Seitz Corp. I fiqure that I let them live with it while I go to Grenada with hopes of a sale when I get back,but leasing for
Corporate seems like a good way to go and make some money
and get the work out at the same time using them as mini gallerys at the same time. I just sent two to the gallery last month I have them on my site in gallery 5 I will try and post a picture as soon as I fiqure out how,Today I just put up that stainless kenetic one you gave me advice on today and I will
powder coat it when I get back.Thanks for the input.
