Hi David. I like your work a great deal. But you have some serious problems with the size of title images. The one on the front page is a massive 1984KB in size, that will mean that hardly anybody on a dial up connection will wait around for it to load.
It may appear fast for you, if so it is because the image is already in your cache. Not so for new visitors. I nearly backed out, and I'm on a cable connection.

Here it is at a much smaller 64KB http://www.roberthague.com/croppedlogo.jpg

It's one of those terrible realities of the internet, that images take time, and people don't wait around.

Your work looks fascinating, and I doubt it will take long to absorb the changes in the art world. The same nonsense and moments of elation persist.

Robert.

Welcome David. I am of your generation and shared a lot of your experiences. College drop-out 1964 followed quickly by the draft; young marriage; art-school in the 1970's with respected old-world and abstractionist mentors; 20 year hiatus while earning a living and etc. I also am mainly carving stone directly now, and trying to do "what I really want to do" in semi-retirement years.. I don't feel quite "accepted" in today's Art scene, nor want to be. But I'm happier than I've ever been. Welcome aboard. The world needs all the ex-hippie vietnam vet dropout stone carving grandpas it can get.

Robert, Thanks for the info. My daughter just built the website for me about two weeks ago, so we are going thru some changes. Once she arrives for Christmas turkey I will see if I can figure out a way to make it quicker. Whilst she is a technocrat, I myself am a technovice.

Hi Dave - Like jwebb, I too am of your generation with the same history. (Navy for me) The major difference is stone. Some say the truest form of sculpture is the subtractive kind. I think the creative pleasure we get from any form of 3D fits my difinition.

I would like to try my hand at carving in some meduim when I retire.

I really like reading the messages from everyone enjoying their passion for 3D.
