Does anyone know what product will work the best for creating a hollow globe for the base of a scupture?

Before anyone can give any sensible suggestion, you need to give more details of the size, weight, etc.

I think think of fired clay for very small hollow spheres. Increasing in size, they can cement, fiber reinforced cement, and fiber glass resin.

I think the sphere will be 36 inches in diameter, wrapping around a pole-like base.

36" diameter ? And did you say globe? See below. Made of fiberglass resin and painted by me. I made and painted two, sold one, and still have one in my storeroom.

How much? Can the globe be cut to fit around the base?

The bottom has a round hole, about 12 in. diam, with a rim, see below. This globe has white clouds and has been sold at an exhibition. The second one has no clouds, just oceans and continents.
Shipping would not be cheap. I think you are from the US, while I am from Singapore in S E Asia.

Your globe is great, I'm not sure it will fit around the base. The base is square and sweeps upward on a curve,(not sure if this is making any sense if I could show you a picture I would but it is only in draft state.). I will reply when I have more concrete info. Thanks for your help.
