Hi Art People.

I haven't been here in a while and I hope the New Year finds you all healthy, happy and productive.

I've been working part time at a store called Exotic Lumber Inc.
We stock over 140 species of hardwoods and softwoods from around the world, as well as carving blocks, turning blanks, veneers and sheet goods.

I am frequently amazed by the variety and beauty of the woods we stock... and I wanted to share our web site with fellow woodworkers and sculptors:

http://www.exoticlumberinc.com

We can do custom milling on request and we ship to most places around the globe. If you have any questions about our inventory, please feel free to call us at our toll-free number: 1-888-BOARDFT
(1-888-262-7338 Monday - Friday 8AM to 5PM EST)

I'm not working on commission or anything, so please don't consider this spam...lol.
I just know it is very hard to find good exotic woods in many areas... and I hoped this might be of use to you.

Cheers,

Robert

Robert - This sounds a bit like an advertisement we just deleted, but I find your post of greater potential use, so thanks. Russ RuBert, of course, will have the final say on material like this. Here in New Orleans, we have at least one dealer specializing in exotic woods, but other locations may not be so fortunate.

I make a motion to open a section asking for any material or sculpting specific services or resources to post in. Most self evident to the venders and obvious to us so we may brouse it as we are concidering venders down the line. "Post & View Vender Ads and Info Here" or something in that style. Perhaps parallel to the Welcome section as these marketers are prone to pay special atention to that as they are new to our forum. It does rub a person raw to be marketed in a place where we specifically asked not to be, but at the same time I as a sculpture am interested in new venders of materials as there can be bargains to be had as many new venders expect to loss money the first couple years.

"...I as a sculture." Sorry I chugged my night meds before posting.

Please change that suggestion to the following more sensible placement:

Community Announcements /
Sculpture Supplies, Resources & Venders, Post, View & Discuss

Please believe that it was not my intention to annoy anyone with a sales solicitation. I find spam a terrible annoyance, but this resource was quite useful to me and I thought others here might also find it useful.

If you guys could see the Pommelle Sapele lumber (aka blistered mahogany) I just bought.... you'd wet your pants. Amazing! :D

PS.
I second the motion to add a section for sculpture-specific materials and services. Just my 2 cents worth.
