Hi Everyone,
Can you help me find a publisher who would be interested in a classic work on sculptural development?
I am almost finished with a book about the natural stages, step-by-step, how human beings develop sculptural concepts using clay. It is based on a 525 page doctorate study from NYU where I studied youngsters sculpting, without adult guidance, either using clay (a solid material) or wire (a linear material). The outcome and extension research before and after yielded many, many works upon which conclusions are based.
The book starts with children knowing nothing about the material, not even being able to separate it to their making adult-like, in-the-round, abstract and realistic forms. I found there to be 6 stages of development, before children enter the adult world. There are also lessons for an adult to guide children, and even adults in moving through sculptural (structural) levels of development.
The book is not childish. It is very profound and would be an eye opener to adult sculptors.
Thank you for your help. I am so grateful to all of you,
