The International Sculpture Center is hosting it's 21st International Sculpture Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan, October 2-4, 2008. This year’s conference, Sculpture in Public: Part 2, Public Art, presented in collaboration with Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, will focus on issues including education, and the teaching of public art, conservation, temporary venues, and critical reviews, among others. Keynote speaker Jaume Plensa joins other prominent artists, administrators, writers, and critics who will speak at this 2½ day event. Registration includes admission to all panels, Educator Award Luncheon honoring Ron Pederson (Aquinas College), pre-keynote reception, and art slam. Registration is open through Sept 4, 2008. Student rate available with limited space, first-come basis.
