HI everyone,

I am interested in Creating a Stool/Chair and casting the entire piece out of a hard rubber.

Does anyone have any information as to where I can source these materials? Has anyone had experience with creating something like this out of rubber?

Thanks for your help

Josh

Hi, I haven't ever cast a rubber stool, though the idea appeals! However, a company I know is Bentley Chemicals who make a variety of liquid rubbers and plastics and are very helpful and would advise which of their products might suit. e-mail for UK branch is info@bentleychemicals.co.uk, but its actually a US company. website www.bentleychemicals.co.uk
hope this helps.

Joshua,
When you say "hard rubber" do you mean a rigid RTV plastic?

If this is the case, then take a look at my web page for material suppliers. http://coteart.com/supplier.html

I once worked on plastic injection dies for lawn furniture.

If you can give me more details about it I may be able to make some suggestions as to how to save time and money.

is this is some way a form of soft sculpture??

if so tiranti's does a 2 part expandable filler (like the stuff for filling gaps in building etc) that is quite spongy, not sure if this is the right sort of finish your looking for though

(DEF010 Flexible Polyurethane Foam.)
