Every now and then I have a postcard printed for promotional purposes. I've been using the ame one for awhile and have shifted from sending a negative and layout to a digital file. Recently I got a postcard from them advertising a special they were offering - their Express turnaround, which usually costs $100, would cost nothing, limited time only. Usually flyers, etc fall into that despised category of junk mail, but I decided to take them up on this one.
Monday night I decided to do a card to inform people of the URL of my new website, so I chose and formatted an image and the accompanying text. I forget whether I sent it off via the internet late, late on Monday night or Tuesday morning. They asked me to confirm their version of the layout the same day and I received the printed postcards Thursday afternoon. Modern Postcard is in California and I'm in Massachusetts, as far across the country from them as you can get without getting wet. It is incredible that the darned thing could have gone through checking the files, regular normal printing and shipping thousands of miles in two days. And the postcards look great, good color and the ink isn't wet. Harry Potter has nothing on these people.
