Off to teach a basic carving course for the next week – an intro to abstract carving.
Will have 10 students, and 3 will no doubt make something based on a spiral, and at least one other on an egg form. An Italian teacher I know used to lightly mock this phenomenon, but for me it’s not that simple. I love what people do when they are released from the detritus of the visual world we have to manage from day-to-day.
