i was looking at a post from a to be mfa graduate and people were talking a little about how to be an artist. Now i know there is no formula and what works for some may not work for others. There is a gallery owner in chicago that said some things that i enjoy and i think all young'ins should read me being a young'in my self

i also thought it might be interesting to hear how other people are paying the bills and making at the same time or if making pays the bills. i teach art k-8 threee days a week and make art 4 days and the nights after i get done teaching. This works for me for now. But i know i could not do it for ever.

rjustin, that was a very good link, something I will save and read over and over to try to figure out my just why.

I have never made it to the big time. Been melting welding rods for over thirty years. Always wanted to give up the day job. But math tells me that what I make, what I charge, and who buys my pieces will never let me do it full time. So I keep my day job, put what I make from my pieces back into the studio and keep telling myself I like what I do. I guess we can't all get rich, wait did't I just see a post about that, I guess maybe I will have to read.
Only three more years to retirement whoopee.
