Stone sculpting in beautiful regenerated quarry in the UK

If anyone would like the unique experience of carving in the raw setting of a regenerated quarry I could recommend no better the the Portland Sculpture and Quarry Trust (www.learningstone.org).

It's an incredible location and to carve Portland stone in its natural environment is something else. They also are always interested in hearing from artists looking for residencies, working in the media of their choice.

I've been 4 times now, and nothing could stop me returning

Hello Beetlem...this looks very interesting, I might have to take a trip down to Portland in the near future, I have been carving in a Zimbabwean stone recently and it would be good to try the Portland stone and what a setting to do it in! :D
