You are cordially invited to attend the first-ever Gund Program for Western Art, History and Culture with renowned art historian and Frederic Remington expert Peter Hassrick. The presentation is Tuesday, July 13, at 7 p.m. at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art in Indianapolis. The city is a great place to visit, and you can see the Eiteljorg, too, at no cost!

Hors d'oeuvre reception and book signing to follow the presentation.

Peter Hassrick is founding director emeritus of the Charles M. Russell Center for the Study of Art of the American West at the University of Oklahoma and was founding director of the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, N.M. He's the author of many books, including "Remington, Russell and the Language of Western Art."

Hi, cdashnaw, and thanks for this notice. I greatly admire Remington, Russell, and the other Western Realists. I believe either Ronald Reagan or Jimmy Carter made a point of having their works in the White House while president.

I hope to see more contemporary work in this vein on this forum.
