In these high tech days we live in,can being goggle actually be a measure of sucess?A few months ago I had a former gallery that reped me in Atlanta come up under my name,that was it.Well now there is all kinds of attachments about prior shows,and current events in my life.I did not post it there,but who did,the computer?I was glad to see the sculpture community web site pop up too................................mmm

I googled myself yesterday and was shocked at some of the silly things that came up. Wow! You really have to be careful with this toy.

There used to be a search engine called Northern Lights that would research your name to produce every "news" article ever written about you. Many of which were obscure and and totally unknown to me, Google produces similar curious results.

My name is close to an author who wrote extensively about the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich and when googled produces millions of results.

Yup!! take it from one who knows- EVERYTHING - inclding all the stuff you DON'T want saved or found is archived in google- including all web forums, message boards, "profiles" posts made in usenet, your ICQ/AIM etc profles, email addresses and a whole lot more- forever, and this company turns around and sells all of this.

Best bet is NEVER use your last name anywhere ever, not in your posts, profiles, registrations, outgoing emails or your web site.

Fused,thats intense.I clicked on some dude with my name and he was some total freek from California,I though great,but I guess in comparison thats not so bad.I laughed because there was stuff I never saw,like, who is who of GA artist,did not even know.In todays times,people will Goggle you,for better of worse,the way things are.....Hey is possible to have to much PR?After my home state kind of kicked me to the curb,now they want to kiss and make up.If I pull that photo op with the Governor, at the Atlanta Steeplechase,where several stainless steed will be lurking outside the sponsors tent,then that would be like them slipping the toung on that kiss..............................will they remeber me next year?Gotta believe they will..IA

yeah, googling your own name is a daunting proposition......strange to thing of all that stuff just floating around in cyberspace, of no real interest to anybody really. (except for my rabid fans)
