if you have access to a research/university library, I would suggest looking there for past issues of magazines like Sculpture, art books and online article databases. you could also ask your local library to get some hard-to-find books. unfortunately, there hasn't been very much published in contemporary sculpture -- I've looked on amazon.com before and couldn't find anything. The International Sculpture Center has recently published a book on Contemporary Sculpture, however, and it looks promising since it covers the years since 1980.

also, there was an excellent PBS series (US public television) called "Art:21" which covered visual arts and some sculptors like Richard Serra. They released DVDs (several seasons) and a companion book as well.
