I've rushed this piece into being since Wednesday morning by doing 12 hr days. The reason being that I needed the work for a magazine ad for my next exhibition. Crazy as it seems I have agreed to a solo in 10 weeks time with only 10% of the show made. Anyway, I've spent today shooting the work for this full page ad, it being the only freestanding work that I have for the show so far, and I am very uncertain it is going to be ok.

Any thoughts?

I also need a title in the next dozen hours or so, as the closing date for the magazine issue was last Friday.

It is 1m tall.

I know what you're talking about. I tend to do similar crazy things, but I've learned that I work very well under pressure. Maybe that would be a good title for the work? 'Under Pressure'? :p

Oh, and I think it's gorgeous. Great job!

Or there is this angle...

Yes, beautiful once again. Perhaps you will want to Photoshop both images into one side-by-side square one?
What about "Perigee" because it suggests something orbital, yet nearby?
Or "Trajectory"?

Well you could call it "The crazy things we do" :)

Manic loft (I'm feeling good already)

wisp (don't know where that came from)

Righteous Indignation (I've just have been wanting to use that term)

Hey good luck on your show! Sounds like you have some massive "quality studio time" ahead (means you've got to work your butt off).

Your work with the colors and finishes of paint is outstanding, in addition to your work with the shapes
I humbly suggest " Out of the Rabble" . We as obesrvers can easily see the victory but can only imagine the struggle and from whence this piece came. This is a piece of refinement!

Thanks guys :) I had a freakout last night (after 13hrs working) and just pulled the title from a recent maquette. So the title is, A Red Prayer, which seems fitting. I've noted a couple of the suggestions however - as I'm always struggling with the endless river of names.

The stupid thing about doing this show, is that in this 9 and a bit weeks I also have to make a 1/4 ton commission that I unfortunately cannot show. Where's the sobbing crazy emoticon when you need it... the good luck is I am just dumb enough to have some fun doing it all, and if the body holds out, actually make a quantity of work.

I've agreed anyhow, with a fullpage ad going to print with exhibition dates today, so I better stop mumbling and kicking my feet, and take some blankets and a pillow to the workshop.

JAZ, I think that's my issue with this one, it is extremely vertical for a page format similar to Sculpture magazine. I'm reluctant, but may yet agree to a cropping.

I just found out that the show has been moved forward another 2 weeks to the 2nd of August. :( 10 weeks become 8.

It would appear that I now have no life at all, I may as well get the phone disconnected and throw out the TV.

Hey, if you need some help from a fellow metalworker, fly me down there and I can lend a hand... ;)

Good luck!

balls to the wall....slowing down to a dead run.....ah to be young again....
Robert----now, crunch time, is when the skills pay off......You'll find new themes in old concepts and see differently as you crunch through---sounds fun.....and a great opportunity

how many pieces?

one of my fall-back positions is to borrow pieces back from the owners...

title------always a teaser---most of my figurative/non-mythofigurative pieces are named after the model or someone else's comment or what they're doing.
e.g. Lynn is called "Lynn", Donna-"Donna", guitarman-"guitarman", swimmer "swimmer"---seems to lack imagination ...oh well
