I'm looking for access to a well-equipped sculpture studio (metal, wood, foundry would be nice) that I use on evenings and weekends to build my portfolio. I have taken several undergraduate courses and I want to apply to MFA programs in a year or two.

Has anyone had any luck finding studio resources in the Jersey City, NJ area (including Manhattan)? I am very willing to enroll in a local university program to use get studio time, and I would also be willing to pay a modest studio fee to access a public or private studio.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Juli

If you wish to broaden your skills & portfolio a bit, The Compleat Sculptor, located in Manhattan has evening and weekend classes available at reasonable rates....you wind up with stone studio time and portfolio additions....

Thanks for the advice. I've looked there before and not found anything that appealed to me specifically, since I'm looking more at wood and metal right now. But I will continue to keep tabs on them.

Thanks again,
Juli
