My newest pieces at Louvre and Pompidou
Got back from France a few weeks ago. Had a great time and was able to pull of some pieces for my "Momentary sculpture shows" at the Louvre and The Centre Pompidou.

Now, that is very creative. Beautiful work in a prestigious venue. The sensitivity, and manipulation of found objects with just a simple twist is magnificent. Bravo!

Some things have just the right touch and are not too much and not too little This is one of them. Applause from the peanut gallery.

What a great idea, Sub! My favourite is the crusader. Perfect gesture from every angle. Any reaction from folks? What did you do with it? Did you take it home?

Too bad philpraxis doesn't post here anymore, (for those who remember him)--
He's in France, and from the work he shared here, would have dug your improvised show! ![]() |

Indeed, I mis Phil. Great way to shake thing up, Sub...overseas even. This body of ideas is taking shape very well. It will require a multi-media attack to be all it can be. I think you're onto something here.
I think I even get the tripod tree thing now (I'm a slow learner). |

Really? Urine? -couldn't find menstrual discharge, or -I don't know- an icon of some sort to suspend there within?

Rika - Crusader stayed in France. Dust to Dust is the sacrifice for a "Momentary Show", But i did bring home the "Omaha Rocks" from the famous Omaha beach. To me They hold super powers as our grandfather's blood was surely spilled on them. Thanks for all the comments. |

Re: My newest pieces at Louvre and Pompidou
So, you do stuff like this all the time? You got pictures of feces spread across your mother's kitchen floor- or does it only rise to art when perpetrated where you don't have to clean it up?

Re: My newest pieces at Louvre and Pompidou
I look forward to the next momentary show at the Met, it definitely deserves further consideration. Having just been there recently with images still freshly seared in my mind I can think of several ideas. Maybe there's room for a small show by proxy?
I'd like to see any one of the following; A barbie doll in one of the 20-ton Egyptian sarcophagi or perhaps looking up at one of the sphinx's with desert styled clothing and a safari hat? Oh, and if you "spiked the punch" in the 500 BC Krater in the Greek pottery section that would also be jolly. It also occurred to me that the bronze chap with the bow drawn and (the arrow and string missing) leg up on a rock needs something to shoot at, bring a stuffed giraffe? Last but not least, Ugolino looks terribly hungry stuck there with his dying children, maybe you could set some french fries down for him or a happy meal? I hear they're going to put apple slices in them now. ![]() |

Re: My newest pieces at Louvre and Pompidou
Mavigogo - Obviously you've never been to paris. In summer the whole city reeks of pee until the rain washes it away. Everyone pees in Paris. If it makes you feel any better you can come to my house and pee on my front yard. Watch out for my dog though, he has a nasty bite.

Re: My newest pieces at Louvre and Pompidou
I've been to Paris...yes, its smelled like pee....Like NYC in the eighties (midtown mainly). There was piss in art long before "Piss Christ" and there will be much more to come. It is too applicable of a metaphor (or realist tool) for artists to resist.
