Re: Bronze cost?

Its a commodity.
That means prices are based on the London daily price for 40,000lbs of it.
Plus shipping, local differentials, and whatever profit they think they can get away with.
It goes up. It seldom goes down, although, theoretically, its possible.

Call up the big suppliers, and get a quote on what you want.
I dont buy ingot, as I dont cast, I fabricate or forge from round, square or sheet.
So I buy from these guys - some of whom sell ingot, some dont.

One thing for sure, it aint cheap. For round bar, I would guess $5 to $8 a pound.
Been There.
Got in Trouble for that.

Re: Bronze cost?

If i was serious about buying alot of bronze, I'd do a deal with a home owner who lives across the street from a metal recycling operation and put a sign out front that offers to buy bronze for ten to fifteen cents more per pound than the big guys. Those guys are paying a buck a pound and every meth head and herion addict is working overtime to get them that cheap bronze. Sure, you might have to deal with some questionable characters but it might be worth it in the long run. Either way, why buy new ( unless of course you have to know exactly what alloys your buying ) when you can buy scrap.
