WHAT? When did they go out of business? is the new product the same?

I just found out I can no longer get VIGOR wax kleen. WOW. How will I clean the waxes. I know many foundry people are using other things, but I really liked this stuff. I am calling gobet to see if their product is anything like the VIGOR. If you work with wax. I would love to hear about what you use and your supplier!

Well, I have gotten by sculpting bronze for 20 years without even knowing about the stuff, let alone using it. Have you tried motor oil ?

What does it actually do?
i used methylated spirits (or diluted shellac) to clean oil & fingerprints off wax... is that all it does?

Re: WHAT? When did they go out of business? is the new product the same?

While searching for the product on the Internet I found Jeweler Randy Erickson and hoped that the old ( several years old ) post still had a good e-mail. Bless those people who don't change their e mails every othermonth! a company by the name of Stuller has the product. Here is a link

or if that link does not work it is product number #21-0160 for the 4 oz can and #21-0162 for the 8 oz.

This is what jewelers use to polish the wax. The smell is very nice. I think this is what oil painters mean when they say, "I could never use that non turpentine stuff. I need the smell!" The smell is part of the process. It makes me wonder what other things are "part of the process". Thanks for the suggestions on other material.
