a question for the professionals

for those of you professionals that are willing, can you tell me a bit about what your respective careers are like; where you would like to be with your work,success,galleries, conflicts, anything--the gamut of things that dictate your life as a professional artist....


i only ask this because i have been deeply immersed in the arts for *only* about 3 and a half years--prior to that it was geared completely towards scientific research in education and work. consequently my perceptions about working as a professional artist are still very nascent.


i would love to hear what any of you have to say.
