VISUAL ARTISTS AS WRITERS:
SHARING THE CREATIVE PROCESS

When feminist artists write about their work and their lives, we have an
unusual opportunity to expand our appreciation of the visual forms they
create. Two acclaimed artists, Nancy Azara and Clarissa Sligh,
(Italian-American, African-American), read from their autobiographical
writings and show slides of their artwork.

Co-sponsored with the Women's Studio Center.

Sat, April 5, 2:30-5 pm, $10/$5 limited income
43-01 21st St, #216, (stairs), Long Island City, NY
For travel info call (718) 361-5649.

Nancy Azara is a sculptor who works in wood. She wrote Spirit Taking Form:
Making a Spiritual Practice of Making Art.

Clarissa Sligh, artist/photographer, uses personal experiences, memory and
history to inform her installations and artists' books, e.g., What's
Happening With Momma?

Women's Studio Center, Inc. is a nonprofit, fine art studio in LIC offering
studio space, classes and workshops to artists. (718) 361-5649. WSC586@aol.com
