SPRING 2003
Here are just a few of the exciting grantee-related events:
If youıre in New York, donıt miss the last days of American Dream, an exhibition on view until Saturday, April 5th at Ronald Feldman Fine Arts Gallery in SoHo. With "much invigorating satiric humor and inventive esthetic energy" (The New York Times), American Dream includes work by 25 grantees among the more than 50 artists featured. A free film screening in conjunction with the exhibition takes place Thursday, April 3rd.
Through May, projects by grantees Barbara Hammer and Christine Tarkowski can be seen at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago in the exhibition War (What is it Good For?).
Two funded projects, Bill Morrisonıs film Decasia and Rennie Harrisıs performance Facing Mecca, hit the road this spring. Decasia is screening at Anthology Film Archives in New York and goes on to festivals in Dallas, Wisconsin, Istanbul, and Singapore (where another funded project, Jon Moritsuguıs Scumrock, will screen). Facing Mecca will be presented at Lincoln Performance Hall in Portland, OR, make its way through California, Florida, and New York, and will continue to tour this summer.
