How to Put Photos in This Website ?
I have been viewing the photo images in the Photo Gallery, as well as in Feature Photos. But I can't figure out how to put photos into them from these pages, nor from the FAQ.
Can the moderator or other members help to explain ? By the way, I have figured out how to do it at individual postings, treating them as attached files. |

Re: How to Put Photos in This Website ?
It seems that logging into the forum on sculpture.net doens't also automatically log you into the Photo Gallery section. Try this:
1. Go to the Photo Gallery 2. Click the login link at the right of the page (it should be under the Log Out link for the forum). 3. Use your sculpture.net forum username and password to log into the Photo Gallery. If this does not work, you will need to register separately. 4. You should now see a link called "Upload Photos" near the original login link for the Photo Gallery (which will now be a Logout link). You can follow that link to the page which allows you to upload photos. Note: for some reason, when I log out of the Photo Gallery, I am also automatically logged out of the sculpture.net forum. However, by logging out of the forum, I am not logged out of the Photo Gallery. Last edited by Julianna : 09-17-2005 at 07:01 AM. Reason: more info regarding logging out |

Re: How to Put Photos in This Website ?
Hi,
Followed those steps but I am having problems with the Photo Upload process in the Photo Gallery section. The photo filesize is limited to 2k ? Am I missing something here? |

I can't seem to upload a 43K image even though someone suggests a 64K limit. It certainly can not be a 2k limit?!?!?!

Another way to post images --here and elsewhere-- is to set up an account
on a free web-hosting site like Flickr or Photo Bucket etc. |

He said the website got 1 million hits a month. But some may be due to web robots scanning around the cyberspace to capture info, say to build up spam lists. It is a wild wild west out there. |

Re: How to Put Photos in This Website ?
Hi all,
To clarify on the Sculpture Community gallery questions - you have to also be a member of ISC - International Sculpture Center, to post photos to the gallery. See www.sculpture.org to join. You then get 1,500,000 k of space and restrictions are lifted. Traffic on this site has increased, but not because of webbots - although they are out there - the traffic is real. I am the one that pays to keep it all going so I know it is possible to identify google and other automatic devices. When I mentioned the gross number of hits in a email earlier I'm not trying to over-hype the site, because much of that number is people just clicking around. Rather I just look at general trends and make sure the number of hits is increasing. Actually we are at 1,348,222 hits as of today for October. December '04 we were at 564,560 as a comparison - this is what is causing the double bandwidth demand as compared to just a year ago. I'm traveling right now (Houston, Texas), but will post more about this when I return to my studio - finish my next sculpture and get it out the door - it's due early November. Thanks again to everyone for your participation in Sculpture Community.

Thanks Russs for your clarification.

I did review more than once if I should pay up to join the ISC, and after considerations I still turn down the idea. I am from half way around the world from the US, and the only benefit for me seems to be the magazine. ![]() |
