help with 'strategitic' cutting

Due to my chemical sensitive and physical stemina.......I've been sculpting with clay only.

I'm working on a project of making a bonded marble sculpture 28x16x16 to donate to the upcoming international conference of ME-CFIDS to raise research funds for this extremely disabling illness.

I've already sculpted a proto type in smaller scale....16x14x14. I read that in order to cast a detailed sculpture, one will have to cut it at strategetic points, then rejoin them to hide the seam (or something like that)

Since I've no experice in casting bonded marble and have no idea where considered the strategitic points ......your precious input will be greatly appreciated.

Jax

Re: help with 'strategic' cutting

Look into flexible molds --silicone etc.-- so that strategic cutting apart of your form isn't necessary.
The mother mold around that will be in sections or use shims on your sculpture to produce a hard
mold in sections.
